Everyone knows what comes after the fall season: flu season. Seniors aged 65 and older are at a greater risk for contracting flu and the effects can be more detrimental than in younger adults. Here are eight tips you can take to help protect yourself against the flu this year.

Ontario is offering the flu shot at more locations than ever this year to help protect more people against the flu. Starting this week, the free flu vaccine is available at doctors' offices and at community and workplace flu immunization clinics. It is also available for those five and older through specially trained pharmacists at close to 2,000 pharmacies across Ontario - three times as many pharmacies as last year.
Announced by Minister Goodyear on September 12, 2012, the Connected Health and Wellness Project is a technology platform containing an integrated suite of compatible technologies and apps designed to improve the health of Canadians. This project will allow patients to access and share their health records with their family, friends and care teams, including a health coach, to collaboratively manage their health and wellness.
A Milton mother of two dying of brain cancer got a sympathetic ear but no medicine or funding from Health Minister Deb Matthews in her quest for a drug she believes will prolong her life. “I’d hoped for better news and a better outcome,” Kimm Fletcher, 41, told reporters after a private meeting with Matthews on Wednesday.
